Pride 7 officially recognised as a G7 engagement group by G7 France!

President Emmanuel Macron officially recognised Pride 7 as a G7 engagement group in his closing remarks, along with the defense of LGBTQI+ Rights.

This Wednesday June 10th 2026, Pride 7 was at the Élysée for the meeting and exchanges with the G7 engagement groups. We were able to hand our official communiqué in person to President Emmanuel Macron.

This is a historic step forward for the voice of LGBTQI+ people within the G7, and the fruit of a collective effort.

Our thanks go to President Emmanuel Macron and his teams, as well as to the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ministère des Affaires étrangères français, for their attentiveness and their welcome.

A warm thank you as well to Ambassador Jean-marc Berthon and to Thomas Gasselin, civil society policy adviser to the French presidency, for their support.

And thank you, above all, to the members of Pride 7, to the entire community and to the organisations that support us. This achievement is yours.

Pride 7 has urged that the recommendations it carries be taken up by France at the G7 Summit in Évian, on 15-17 June.

The next chapter begins now.
