On May 22 and 23, 2025, Egale Canada, in partnership with The Dignity Network, proudly hosted the 2025 Pride 7 Summit in Ottawa, Ontario. Held at the prestigious Global Centre for Pluralism, the summit convened over 100 of the world’s leading LGBTQI+ advocates and leaders for two days of dialogue, strategy, and solidarity.

The Pride 7 Summit served as a key international forum in the lead-up to the G7, providing LGBTQI+ civil society a unified voice to influence global policy. Discussions centred around the 2025 Pride 7 Communiqué, with focused engagement on its core thematic areas: (1) Upholding Democracy, Strengthening Legal Frameworks, and Advancing Human Rights Protection, (2), Peace, Stability, and Humanitarian Action, (3) Economic Sustainability, Equity, and Climate Resilience, and (4) Gender Justice and Health Equity

Participants shared experiences, developed collaborative strategies, and reinforced the importance of intersectional approaches to addressing global challenges impacting LGBTQI+ communities. The summit underscored a collective commitment to advancing human rights and dignity for all, leaving a lasting impact on the global LGBTQI+ advocacy landscape.
